We are thrilled to announce that Primev has been selected to receive a grant under the Academic Grants Round from the Ethereum Foundation! This research on Optimistic Peer-to-Peer Networks, led by our Research Scientist Christian Matt, aims to improve Ethereum's p2p network.

Currently, Ethereum's p2p network faces challenges due to its static peering logic. Our research focuses on developing novel protocol designs with optimistic peering paths to address these challenges and enhance performance and reliability.

This research topic was highlighted in the Academic Grants Round Wishlist for 2024, underscoring its importance to the Ethereum ecosystem. We plan to adapt our findings not only to Ethereum but also to L2s and fast p2p networks like mev-commit, broadening the impact of our work.

This grant marks a significant milestone for Primev as we aim to achieve breakthroughs that will benefit blockchains like Ethereum and promote more intelligent peer-to-peer networking to further decentralization. Our goal is to contribute to a more efficient and scalable Ethereum network, which aligns perfectly with our mission at Primev.

We're pleased to note that Primev has received this grant in collaboration with external academic researchers. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Chenda Liu and Eller Thomsen for their valuable contributions to this project.

We deeply appreciate the support of the Ethereum Foundation and the broader blockchain community as we work towards enhancing the foundational technologies that power decentralized networks.

Stay tuned for more updates as we delve deeper into this research.
